STEP ONE:
SELECT YOUR INTERNET CONNECTIVITY OPTIONS

You might need two, maybe three different types of Internet services to ensure continuity of learning in today's environment. Fortunately, purchasing Internet access is easy through the New Jersey Digital Readiness and Learning Program (NJDRLAP). It's been the most popular Internet solution for New Jersey schools since 2015 and has a whole set of solutions available to solve the Digital Divide.

UPGRADE ON-CAMPUS BANDWIDTH

Schools need to have enough Internet access on campus to accommodate multiple teachers delivering instruction to students at home via apps like Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams. Generally, those apps require about 3 Megabits per second (Mbps) per users to work effectively, so figuring out how much extra Internet is required is a straightforward math problem: multiply the expected number of simultaneous users times 3 Mbps for each school building.

The NJDRLAP program allows schools to easily upgrade their bandwidth year-by-year with pre-approved pricing and flexible terms. In most cases, on-campus connections are E-Rate eligible. Schools should contact their NJDRLAP provider to get a quote and order service. If you don't know your vendor, contact us for help.
